Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force releases quarterly snapshot

The Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force quarterly snapshot says 57 people have been arrested for drug-related offenses so far this year.

Pounds of narcotics were taken off the streets in the region through purchases and seizures, including 10 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.1 pounds of heroin/fentanyl, 1.7 pounds of cocaine and 11.7 pounds of marijuana, in addition to more than 1,200 fentanyl pills.

These drugs would have a street value of $571,306. The snapshot also shows 26 arrests for non-drug-related or warrant offenses, thirty firearms and $58,000 in cash seized, and two children removed from endangerment.

The task force is a cooperative effort on behalf of Beltrami County, the City of Bemidji, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Cass County, Hubbard County, the City of International Falls, Koochiching County, Leech Lake Reservation, Mahnomen County, the Minnesota National Guard Counterdrug Task Force, the City of Park Rapids, and the White Earth Reservation.
