Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run crash

A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash early this morning in Bemidji.

According to a release from the Bemidji Police Department, emergency personnel responded to the 400 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. S. and found a pedestrian on the ground severely injured around 4:19 a.m.

Officers observed one vehicle traveling north from the area and caught up to it on 15th St. and Irvine Ave. NW.

The 18-year-old driver, Kyler Decent of Northome, was arrested.

The 18-year-old pedestrian is reported to be in stable condition at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
