Pine River man injured in crash

CASS COUNTY– A Pine River man was injured in an alcohol-related crash in Cass County late Friday night.

According to a report from the state patrol, 23-year-old David Benedict was heading north on Highway 371 in a 2007 Saturn Ion when he left the roadway, striking trees and rolling onto the passenger side.

He was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a Park Rapids hospital.

The report indicates Benedict was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Hackensack Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
