Planned Sanford Bemidji nurse picket called off after tentative agreement on new contract

The Minnesota Nurses Association announced they have called off their plan to for Sanford Bemidji nurses to hold an informational picket,

The planned picket was scheduled for this Monday, but a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract was announced Thursday.

MNA says the new contract includes fair pay increases, better accrual of paid time off, and stronger language to protect the union and nurses’ contract in case of a change in ownership.

As Sanford Health and Fairview are seeking a merger, MNA says that last clause is especially important.

A ratification vote on the tentative agreement is scheduled in the coming days.
