Ponemah woman arrested, suspected of stabbing two

A Ponemah woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after stabbing two people in Northern Township.

According to a release from Beltrami County Sheriff Ernie Beitel, deputies responded to the 2000 block of Whiting Road around 12:30 p.m. on report of a domestic violence incident that resulted in the two stabbings.

According to the male victim, an ex-girlfriend of his forcibly entered the home and stabbed him and a female resident, then fled in a vehicle.

Thirty-four-year-old Kathleen Martin was arrested without incident, and is in custody pending arraignment for burglary and assault.

The two victims were transported by ambulance to the Sanford Bemidji Emergency Department, but no further information is available on their medical status.
