Preview of the May 3 Bemidji Council meeting

The Bemidji City Council will consider several items during their first meeting of May this Monday.

The council will summarize the City Manager’s Performance Review, which was discussed in a closed meeting last week.

The council will also consider awarding a quote for this year’s alley paving project, as well as consider a partnership and potentially staffing with the Tourist Information Center, where Visit Bemidji is the tenant of the city-owned building.

Lastly, in new business, the council will consider sponsoring fireworks for Bemidji’s quasquicentennial, or 125th, celebration.

The council will also hold the final reading of an ordinance amending Bemidji’s fire code.

The council will hear a report from Bemidji Liquor Stores, and a few reports from council committee assignments: a library report from Council member Nancy Erickson, as well as Joint Planning Board and Sanford Center Board updates from Mayor Jorge Prince.
