Public Affairs gives green light for Neilson Reise’s COVID plan

The Bemidji Public Affairs Committee gave the green light for Neilson Reise’s COVID reopening plan during their meeting Monday.

Parks director Marcia Larson said that some of the challenges her department will face with the reopening is finding enough staff.

There will be 30 minutes in between groups, with no more than 22 people allowed during each group.

During the in between time, ideally, one staffer will spray disinfectant on seating, while another cleans the ice.

After this meeting, the COVID plan will go before the full council.

Recreational ice arenas are temporarily closed with Gov. Tim Walz’s latest executive order.

The full COVID preparedness plan is available in the meeting packet.
