Public participation encouraged ahead of Beltrami Jail decision

The public is encouraged to provide input on the Beltrami County Jail project.

In a recent interview with Beltrami County Administrator Tom Barry and Sheriff Ernie Beitel, the two officials emphasized the desire for a completely transparent process, as stated by Beitel.

Justice Planners compiled a highly detailed final report laying out seven options for the project.

Citizens can submit written comments and take a survey through the project’s online informational portal, as well as provide in-person comments at a special meeting scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 22, at 5 p.m. in the County Board room.
