Rally scheduled for Saturday

A rally to reopen Minnesota is developing in Bemidji.

According to an email sent to Bemidji Now that originated from Beltrami County GOP Chair Rich Seigert, the rally will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Paul and Babe, and one source speculates as many as 500 could be in attendance.

According to the email, the demonstration will be in support of local small businesses and churches being able to reopen.

The demonstration is in response to Gov. Tim Walz’s stay-at-home order which has ordered the closure of non-essential business and places of public accommodation. The order, as of today, is set to expire Monday, May 4.
