Red Flag warning issued for much of Minnesota

Over half of the counties in Minnesota were named to the Red Flag Warning area, as low humidity, dry fuels and high winds create ideal conditions for wildfires.

DNR officials urge residents to not burn and to check on any recent burns to ensure the fire is out, as any spark could become a wildfire.

The Red Flag Warning expires at 1 a.m. tomorrow. Beltrami, Clearwater, Cass, Itasca, Mahnomen and Hubbard counties were listed among the 38 under the red flag warning.
