Redby man federally indicted on meth, gun offenses

A Redby man was recently indicted by the federal court for one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 46-year-old Arlin Thunder made his first appearance in court yesterday and will appear Tuesday for a formal detention hearing.

According to the allegations, in May 2019, Thunder was found to be in possession of the drugs and the gun, a 9mm pistol.

Thunder has a prior felony conviction and is prohibited from possessing a firearm at any time.

The Red Lake Tribal Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conducted the investigation.
