Remer man killed in rollover crash

A Remer man was killed in a rollover crash Thursday afternoon.

According to the state patrol, 86-year-old Raymond Finberg was northbound in a Jeep Wrangler on Highway 6 north of Remer when he drifted off to the right and rolled.

The state patrol says Finberg was not wearing a seat belt. He was transported to the Grand Rapids Hospital before he was declared deceased.

The Cass and Itasca County Sheriff’s offices, Remer EMS and Fire and Deer River EMS assisted at the scene.

The state patrol report says it is unknown if Finberg was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
