A risk level three sex offender recently relocated to the 1000 block of Mississippi Avenue.
According to a fact sheet from the Bemidji Police Department, 37-year-old Michael Warren Smith was released from prison in 2019.
He was living at the 600 block of 4th Street NW since then but moved on Oct. 26.
Smith’s crime involved a known male toddler and he used his position of authority to gain compliance.
Smith has served the sentence imposed on him by the court and is not wanted by the police at this time.
This information is released pursuant to state statute, allowing law enforcement to inform the public about a sex offender’s residence to enhance public safety and protection.
