TURTLE LAKE TOWNSHIP, BEMIDJI, MN: On December 16, 2019 at approximately 9:26 PM the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office 911 center received a report of two armed subjects had entered and robbed the Lakes Market convenience store, located in 13000 block of Irvine Ave NW in Turtle Lake Township, which is located approximately 7 miles north of Bemidji. Prior to Deputies arrival the suspects fled with an undetermined amount of cash and merchandise in a vehicle. That vehicle was soon located unoccupied after it had entered the ditch several miles from the robbery scene. The vehicle was later determined to have been stolen from the 700 block of 33rd Street NW in Bemidji.

Subsequent investigation by Deputies and Bemidji Police Officers throughout the evening and into today led to the location of a second stolen motor vehicle, the recovery of a firearm and evidence that led to the arrest of an adult male and the identification of a second person of interest, Carlito M. Kingbird, age 19, of Bemidji, MN.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Carlito M. Kingbird. If you have information about Carlito M. Kingbird or his location, please do not approach him. You are asked to call the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office at 218-333-9111, OPTION 2.

The arrested person is not being identified at this time, pending formal criminal charges from the Beltrami County Attorney’s Office.
