The Bemidji Sculpture Walk recently installed new sculptures for the 21st summer season, which feature artworks of wood, brass, aluminum, rocks and even recycled tools, farm equipment and auto parts. At their website, they have an interactive Google Map for the downtown area for self-guided sculpture tours.
The Critic’s Choice Awards for last year’s featured pieces went to James Mages for “Wheat Harvest,” on permanent display at the Harmony Food Co-op, and to Sunghee Min, for her modernistic “Cube” sculpture.
The winners were chosen by Aaron Spangler, a sculptor and printmaker from Park Rapids.
To help the BSW continue their mission of bringing new artwork and artist recognition to the downtown area, donations can be made at their Northwest Minnesota Foundation fundraising page.
