U.S. Senator for Minnesota Tina Smith is introducing new legislation on the Senate Floor today.
The bill, according to a summary, requires insurance plans to cover virtual mental health and substance use disorder services provided through telehealth at the same reimbursement rate as in-person visits, as well as prohibit health plans from imposing additional barriers to access telehealth.
