Sherwood named new Bemidji Fire Chief

Justin Sherwood recently accepted the Fire Chief position at the Bemidji Fire Department.

Former Chief David Hoefer retired at the end of last year, while Sherwood was captain.

Chris Loebs will now be interim captain, and the department is looking to hire another full-time firefighter.

Sherwood has 16 years of experience with the Bemidji Fire Department and a total of 18 years experience in fire service.

Sherwood’s first day as Chief will be Feb. 28.
