Situation Update for Friday, April 23

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 2,167 new COVID-19 cases today and ten new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 564,584 and the death toll to 7,064.

None of today’s deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. There have been 4,344 COVID deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after around 53,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.9 million people have been tested in the state with nearly 9 million tests completed.

Nearly 540,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting nine new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, 14 new cases in Cass County, ten new cases in Clearwater County and ten new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,769 cases and 57 deaths, Cass County has had 2,552 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 800 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,760 cases and 41 deaths.
