Situation Update for Friday, Feb. 19

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,001 new COVID-19 cases today and eight new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 477,287 and the death toll to 6,412.

Of all deaths, 4,029 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 37,392 were health care workers.

Today was the first day in nearly a month that daily new cases were over 1,000.

Today’s data comes after 45,000 tests were completed yesterday. Nearly 3.4 million Minnesotans have been tested for COVID-19, with over 7.1 million tests completed.

Over 463,000 of the state’s COVID-19 positive patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting seven new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, two new cases in Cass County, and one new case in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,330 cases and 48 deaths, Cass County has had 2,161 cases and 24 deaths, Clearwater County has had 707 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,590 cases and 39 deaths.
