Situation Update for Friday, Jan. 15

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,640 new COVID-19 infections today and 33 new deaths, bringing the case total to 443,562 and the death toll to 5,850.

Of all deaths, 3,734 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 34,594 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after 47,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.124 million people have been tested, with over six million tests completed to date.

Over 422,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH reported one new COVID death in Hubbard County today, a resident in their early 80s.

MDH reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 in Beltrami County, 11 new cases in Cass County, two new cases in Clearwater County and four new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,074 COVID-19 cases and 46 deaths, Cass County has had 2,780 cases and 23 deaths, Clearwater County has had 683 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,476 cases and 38 deaths.
