Situation Update for Friday, March 12

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,107 new COVID-19 cases today and 13 newly reported deaths, bringing the case total to 495,208 cases and the death toll to 6,737.

From today’s reported deaths, six were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities, bringing the total number of deaths in these types of facilities to 4,237.

Today’s data comes after around 35,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.5 million people have been tested for COVID-19 with nearly 7.7 million tests completed.

Over 480,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting four new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, two new cases in Cass County, one new case in Clearwater County, and two new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,413 cases and 54 deaths, Cass County has had 2,243 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 725 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,617 cases and 41 deaths.
