Situation Update for Friday, March 5

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 813 new COVID-19 cases today and 13 new deaths, bringing the case total to 488,170 and the death toll to 6,534.

Six of today’s deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities, bringing the total of deaths for these types of facilities to 4,076.

Today’s data comes after around 37,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.5 million people have been tested for COVID-19, with over 7.5 million tests completed.

Over 474,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH reported one new COVID-19 case in Beltrami County today and three new cases in Cass County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,387 cases and 51 deaths, Cass County has had 2,210 cases and 24 deaths, Clearwater County has had 719 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,607 cases and 41 deaths.
