Situation Update for Friday, May 14

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,306 new COVID-19 cases and nine newly reported deaths today.

In total, the state has had 592,750 COVID infections and the virus has claimed 7,283 lives.

Three of today’s reported deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. There have been 4,387 reported deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after around 37,000 COVID-19 tests were completed yesterday.

More than 4.1 million people have been tested for COVID-19 with 9.6 million tests completed.

As of today, 575,133 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH reported 11 new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, 15 new cases in Cass County, two new cases in Clearwater County, and ten new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,955 cases and 59 deaths, Cass County has had 2,728 cases and 28 deaths, Clearwater County has had 868 cases and 16 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,893 cases and 41 deaths.
