Situation Update for Friday, Oct. 30

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 3,083 new cases of COVID-19 today, with 3,083 confirmed cases and 82 probable cases, bringing the state’s case totals to 144,862 confirmed cases and 603 probable cases.

Eighteen new COVID deaths were also reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,437.

Of those deaths, 1,701 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 14,304 were health care workers.

Over 2.803 million tests have been completed so far, with over 2.774 million PCR tests and 28,643 antigen tests completed. Yesterday, almost 33,000 PCR tests and 1,060 antigen tests were completed.

To date, 125,052 COVID patients no longer need to be isolated.

Two COVID deaths were reported in north-central Minnesota, the ninth death in Beltrami County, a resident in their early 90s, and the fifth death in Hubbard County, a resident in their early 70s.

MDH recorded 23 new cases in Beltrami County today, bringing the county’s case total to 982 confirmed cases, one probable case and nine deaths. Beltrami County’s 14 day case rate per 10,000 people, for the two-week period ending Oct. 17, decreased slightly, from 49.66 to 49.01.

In Hubbard County, 34 new cases were reported, for a total of 468 confirmed cases, one probable case and five deaths, and Hubbard’s case rate rose from 53.69 to 78.61.

MDH recorded 16 new cases in Cass County, for a total of 438 cases and five deaths. Cass County’s rate increased from 25.94 to 33.42. 

Five new cases were reported in Clearwater County, for a total of 143 cases and one death. Clearwater County’s case rate increased from 23.83 to 56.74.

MDH reported 18 new cases in Itasca County, for a total of 806 cases and 17 deaths, and a case rate decrease from 51.55 to 47.78; two new cases in Koochiching County, total of 177 cases, five deaths, and a case rate increase from 22.94 to 26.10; one confirmed case and one probable case in Lake of the Woods County, for a total of 46 confirmed, one probable, and a case rate decrease from 42.01 to 26.25; five new cases in Mahnomen County, total of 134 cases, two deaths, and a case rate increase from 69.02 to 70.83; and 23 new confirmed cases and nine probable cases in Roseau County, for a total of 347 confirmed cases and 18 probable cases, and a case rate increase from 17.46 to 46.57.
