Situation Update for Monday, April 19

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,292 new COVID-19 cases today and six newly reported deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 557,665 and the death toll to 7,026.

Four of today’s deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. There have been 4,336 COVID deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after around 23,000 tests were completed yesterday. More than 3.9 million people have been tested for COVID-19 with over 8.8 million tests completed.

More than 532,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting six new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, four new cases in Cass County, one new case in Clearwater County and two new cases in Hubbard County.

Beltrami County Public Health was monitoring 74 cases of COVID-19 among residents Friday, as the state recorded an additional 16 cases in Beltrami over the weekend. Three county residents were hospitalized as of Friday.

More than 3,500 of the county’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

As of Friday, more than 17,000 county residents have received at least one dose, with more than 13,000 completing the series.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,735 COVID-19 cases and 47 deaths, Cass County has had 2,508 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 779 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,725 cases and 41 deaths.
