Situation Update for Monday, Dec. 14

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 3,026 new COVID-19 cases today and 18 new deaths, bringing the state’s case count to 381,841 and the death toll to 4,462.

Of those deaths, 2,917 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 28,650 were health care workers.

Over 45,000 tests were completed yesterday, with 4.933 million tests completed to date.

Since the pandemic began, 347,077 patients no longer need to be isolated.

Twenty-three new COVID-19 cases were reported in Beltrami County, and 42 cases and three deaths were recorded over the weekend. The latest death was a resident in their early 80s, reported on Monday from MDH.

There have been 2,627 cases and 28 deaths due to COVID-19 in Beltrami County.

On Friday, Public Health reported there were 189 cases actively being monitored in the county, with 17 of those cases currently hospitalized. Public Health also reports there have been 30 deaths to date.

MDH reported eight new cases in Cass County, for a total of 1,772 cases and 13 deaths; one new case in Clearwater County, for a total of 611 cases and 10 deaths; and 12 new cases in Hubbard County, for a total of 1,300 cases and 33 deaths.
