Situation Update for Monday, Jan. 11

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 980 new COVID-19 infections today and four new deaths, bringing the case count to 437,552 and the death toll to 5,711.

Of all deaths, 3,655 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 34,004 were health care workers.

About 16,000 tests were completed yesterday, with nearly 6 million tests completed to date.

In total, 417,005 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH reported eight new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, seven new cases in Cass County, and four new cases in Hubbard County.

As of Friday, Beltrami County locally was monitoring 99 active cases, with five Beltrami County residents hospitalized for COVID symptoms.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,017 COVID-19 cases and 46 deaths, Cass County has had 2,014 cases and 22 deaths, Clearwater County has had 678 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,451 cases and 37 deaths.
