Situation Update for Monday, March 1

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 636 new COVID cases today and three new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 485,230 and the death toll to 6,486.

Of all deaths, 4,057 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 37,811 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after around 19,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.476 million have been tested for COVID-19, with 7.365 million tests completed.

Over 471,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting one new case in Beltrami County and six new cases in Cass County.

On Friday, Beltrami County Emergency Management reported they were monitoring 36 active cases of COVID-19 with no hospitalizations.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,373 cases and 51 deaths, Cass County has had 2,199 cases and 24 deaths, Clearwater County has had 719 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,606 cases and 40 deaths.
