Situation Update for Monday, Nov. 23

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 6,353 new COVID-19 cases today, with 6,070 new confirmed and 283 new probable cases. The state’s current case total is 276,500, with 271,556 confirmed and 4,943 probable cases.

Twenty-four new COVID deaths were reported today, bringing the state’s death toll to 3,265.

Of those deaths, 2,223 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 20,638 were health care workers.

Approximately 3.837 million tests have been completed so far, with 3.756 million PCR and 81,000 antigen tests completed. Yesterday, about 56,000 PCR tests and 900 antigen tests were completed.

To date, 227,311 of the state’s COVID patients have been released from isolation.

Seventy-five new COVID cases were reported over the weekend in Beltrami County, with 67 new confirmed and eight new probable cases reported today, bringing the county’s case total to 1,826 confirmed, 20 probable cases and 15 deaths. On Friday, Beltrami County Public Health was monitoring 180 cases, with almost 1,500 out of isolation. Thirteen Beltrami residents were hospitalized at that time.

MDH reported 45 new confirmed and two new probable cases in Cass County today, for a total of 1,195 confirmed cases, six probable cases and eight deaths; 18 new confirmed and two new probable cases in Clearwater County, for a total of 428 confirmed, seven probable cases and six deaths; and 41 new confirmed cases in Hubbard County, for a total of 960 confirmed, 10 probable cases and 22 deaths.

Thirty-six new cases and one new death was reported in Itasca County, a resident in their early 60s, bringing the county’s COVID numbers to 1,686 confirmed cases, three probable cases and 24 deaths; five new confirmed and one new probable in Koochiching County, for a total of 330 confirmed, two probable and five deaths; six new cases in Lake of the Woods County, for a total of 82 confirmed, five probable cases and one death; eight new cases in Mahnomen County, for a total of 249 cases and four deaths; and 47 new cases in Roseau County, for a total of 894 confirmed, 98 probable cases and three deaths.
