Situation Update for Monday, Oct. 19

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,616 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 16 new probably cases, bringing the state’s confirmed case total to 124,135 and probable total to 304.

Five new COVID deaths were reported in the state, bringing the death toll to 2,239.

Of those deaths, 1,578 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 12,558 were health care workers.

To date, over 2.5 million PCR tests have been completed, with over 20,000 antigen tests also completed.

MDH recorded 14 new confirmed cases of COVID in Beltrami County, and one probable case from antigen testing, bringing the county’s case total to 768, including the probable case.

On Friday, Public Health reported that there were 102 new COVID cases for the week, with 110 COVID patients currently in isolation at that time. Almost 600 Beltrami COVID patients were out of isolation, but four local residents were hospitalized with COVID symptoms.

MDH recorded six new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cass County today, bringing the total to 311 with five deaths; two new cases in Clearwater County, total of 76; nine new cases in Hubbard County, total of 309 cases and two deaths; six new cases in Itasca County, total of 676 cases and 17 deaths; two new cases in Koochiching County, total of 162 cases and four deaths; two new cases in Lake of the Woods County, total of 42 cases and one death; three new cases in Mahnomen County, total of 94 cases and one death; and four new cases in Roseau County, total of 193 cases.
