Situation Update for Thursday, Dec. 10

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 3.523 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 367,218.

Eighty-nine new COVID-19 deaths were also reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 4,198.

Of those deaths, 2,767 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 27,057 were health care workers.

Over 43,000 tests were completed yesterday, with 4.731 million tests completed to date.

Since the pandemic began, 324,304 COVID-19 patients no longer need isolation.

Three new COVID-19 deaths were reported in Beltrami County today: a resident in their early 80s and two residents in their late 80s.

Two Hubbard County residents in their early 90s were also among the state’s report.

Fifty-three new COVID-19 cases were reported in Beltrami County today, 24 new cases reported in Cass County, three new cases in Clearwater County and six new cases were reported in Hubbard County.

Beltrami Public Health’s Megan Heuer reports they are monitoring 197 cases as of this morning.

Beltrami County has had 2,423 COVID-19 cases and 23 COVID deaths since the pandemic began.

New COVID-19 case rates per 10,000 people, were also updated today.

Beltrami County’s rate dropped by about 10 points, to 119.48; Cass County’s dropped by about 20 points, to 158.85; Clearwater County’s case rate dropped by about 60 points, to 165.68; and Hubbard County’s rate dropped by about six points, to 157.22.
