Situation Update for Thursday, Feb. 18

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 928 new COVID-19 cases today and 14 new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 476,292 and the death toll to 6,404.

Of all deaths, 4,027 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 37,345 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after 33,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.386 million Minnesotans have been tested, with 7.055 million tests completed.

Over 463,000 of the state’s COVID cases no longer need isolation.

MDH reported nine new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, five new cases in Cass County and four new cases in Clearwater County.

The 14-day case rate appears to be improving in Beltrami County. For the two-week period ending Feb. 6, Beltrami County had 16.48 cases per 10,000 people, a drop of about eight points from the last report.

Cass County’s rate dropped by about four points to 12.4, Clearwater County’s rate increased about two points to 11.35, and Hubbard County’s rate increased about one point to 23.97.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,322 cases and 48 deaths, Cass County has had 2,159 cases and 24 deaths, Clearwater County has had 707 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,589 cases and 39 deaths.
