Situation Update for Thursday, Jan. 14

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,598 new COVID-19 cases today and 43 new deaths, bringing the state’s case count to 441,935 and the death toll to 5,817.

Of all deaths, 3,716 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 34,437 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after around 37,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3 million Minnesotans have been tested so far, with over 6 million tests completed.

Over 420,000 COVID cases have been released from isolation.

MDH is reporting 14 new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, 16 new cases in Cass County, one new case in Clearwater County and 14 new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,057 cases and 46 deaths, Cass County has had 2,038 cases and 23 deaths, Clearwater County has had 681 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,469 cases and 37 deaths.
