Situation Update for Thursday, Jan. 21

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,292 new COVID-19 infections today and 32 new COVID deaths.

The state’s case total is 450,762 and the death toll is at 6,011.

Of all deaths, 3,825 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 35,256 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after 41,000 COVID tests were completed. Over 3.17 million Minnesotans have been tested so far, with 6.247 million tests completed.

Almost 434,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

One new COVID death was reported in Cass County today, a resident in their early 60s.

MDH is reporting 23 new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, seven new cases in Cass County, one new case in Clearwater County and four new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,132 COVID-19 cases and 48 deaths, Cass County has had 2,084 cases and 24 deaths, Clearwater County has had 686 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,499 cases and 38 deaths.
