Situation Update for Thursday, May 13

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,011 new COVID-19 cases and 19 newly reported deaths today.

In total, the state has had 591,445 infections and 7,274 deaths.

Six of today’s reported deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. There have been 4,384 deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after around 34,000 tests were completed yesterday. More than 4.1 million people have been tested for the novel coronavirus, with nearly 9.6 million tests completed.

As of today, 574,208 COVID patients no longer need isolation.

One of today’s reported deaths was a Beltrami County resident in their late 70s.

MDH is reporting 15 new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, five new cases in Cass County, and four new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,944 cases and 59 deaths, Cass County has had 2,713 cases and 28 deaths, Clearwater County has had 866 cases and 16 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,883 cases and 41 deaths.
