Situation Update for Thursday, Nov. 12

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 7,228 new COVID-19 infections today, with 6,853 confirmed and 375 probable, bringing the state’s case total to 201,795.

Thirty-nine new COVID deaths were reported today, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,793.

Of those deaths, 1,921 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 16,856 were health care workers.

Over 3.253 million tests have been completed, with 3.203 million PCR and about 51,000 antigen tests completed so far. Yesterday, about 43,000 PCR tests and 6,000 antigen tests were completed.

To date, 159,467 of the state’s COVID patients have been released from isolation.

MDH reported 66 new confirmed cases and one new probable case in Beltrami County today, bringing the county’s cumulative case total to 1,396 confirmed cases, two probable cases and 13 deaths. Beltrami County Public Health was monitoring 250 active cases as of yesterday morning.

Two new COVID deaths were also reported, Cass County’s eighth death, a resident in their early 80s, and Hubbard County’s 12th death, a resident in their late 70s.

Forty-one new cases reported in Cass County, for a total of 792 confirmed cases and two probable cases; 42 new cases in Clearwater County, for a total of 272 confirmed cases and two deaths; and 22 new confirmed and one new probable case in Hubbard County, for a total of 700 confirmed and two probable cases.

Itasca County reported 61 new confirmed cases, for a total of 1,222 cases and 18 deaths; nine new cases in Koochiching County, for a total of 237 confirmed, one probable case and five deaths; one new case in Lake of the Woods COunty, for a total of 61 confirmed cases, four probable cases and one death; six new cases in Mahnomen County, for a total of 167 confirmed cases and three deaths; and 19 new cases in Roseau County, for a total of 539 confirmed cases, 86 probable cases and one death.
