Situation Update for Thursday, Oct. 29

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,872 new cases of COVID-19 today, with 2,849 confirmed and 23 probable cases, bringing the state’s case total to 141,789 confirmed cases and 522 probable cases.

The state also reported 32 new COVID-19 deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,419.

Of those deaths, 1,689 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 14,095 were health care workers.

Over 2.742 million PCR tests and 27,581 antigen tests have been completed so far, with over 27,000 PCR tests and 625 antigen tests completed yesterday.

To date, 124,379 COVID patients have been released from isolation.

MDH recorded 32 new cases in Beltrami County today, bringing the county’s case total to 960 confirmed cases, one probable case and eight deaths.

According to Beltrami County Public Health’s Megan Heuer, there were 113 active cases as of Wednesday afternoon. As of that morning, there were 17 COVID hospitalizations at Sanford Bemidji, with eight of those being Beltrami County residents, and two COVID patients are in intensive care. 

The fourth Hubbard County COVID-19 death was reported today, a resident in their early 90s.

MDH recorded 21 new cases in Cass County, for a total of 422 cases and five deaths; 10 new cases in Clearwater County, total of 138 cases and one death; 10 new cases in Hubbard County, total of 433 confirmed cases, one probable case and four deaths; 17 new cases in Itasca County, total of 788 cases and 17 deaths; one new case in Mahnomen County, total of 129 cases and two deaths; and 20 new cases in Roseau County, for a total of 321 confirmed and nine probable cases.
