Situation Update for Tuesday, June 16

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 197 newly reported COVID-19 cases and nine newly reported deaths, bringing the state’s cumulative total to 30,882 cases and 1,313 deaths.

Of those deaths, 1,041 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those positive cases, 3,223 were health care workers.

To date, 429,145 tests have been completed, with 6,272 being completed within the last 24 hours, and 27,006 patients no longer need to be isolated.

By subtracting the number out of isolation and the number of deaths from the state’s cumulative total, that leaves 2,563 active cases of COVID-19 across the state.

MDH reported no new COVID cases or deaths in north-central Minnesota.

Yesterday, Beltrami County Public Health Director Cynthia Borgen said the county was monitoring three active COVID-19 cases, all of which are isolating at home. MDH tallies Beltrami County at 23 cases, cumulatively.

Clearwater County has had five cases, Cass County has had 11 cases with two deaths, Hubbard County has had five cases, Itasca County has had 59 with 12 deaths, Koochiching has had nine cases, Mahnomen has had six cases with one death, and Roseau County has had six cases.

Lake of the Woods county remains the only Minnesota county without a single COVID-19 case.
