Situation Update for Tuesday, June 2

The Minnesota Department of Health confirmed 310 new COVID-19 cases today and 22 newly reported deaths from COVID-19, bringing the cumulative total to 25,508 cases and 1,072 deaths.

Of those deaths, 866 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of the positive cases, 2,764 were confirmed to be health care workers who contracted the viral disease over the course of the outbreak.

To date, 258,747 have been tested for COVID-19, and 20,381 have recovered to the point they no longer need to be isolated.

By subtracting the recovered and the deaths from the total cumulative case count, that leaves 4,055 active cases across the state.

There are currently 537 Minnesotans hospitalized for COVID-19 and of those, 248 are in the ICU.

Locally, MDH reported one new case in Beltrami County and one new case in Hubbard County.
