Situation Update for Tuesday, Oct. 6

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 954 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, with four new COVID deaths, bringing the state’s cumulative case total to 105,740 and the death toll to 2,087.

Of those deaths, 1,488 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 10,998 were health care workers.

Over 2.182 million COVID tests have been completed so far, with just over 14,000 completed on Monday.

To date, 95,614 of the state’s COVID patients have been released from isolation.

MDH reported five new COVID cases in Beltrami County tuesday, bringing the cumulative total to 557 with five deaths.

The Public Health Board met on Tuesday, and reported to the Beltrami County Commissioners that the county is monitoring 104 active cases of COVID-19, with 24 of those cases added during the community testing event last week.

MDH also reported three new cases of COVID-19 in Cass County, for a total of 223 cases and four deaths; one new case in Clearwater County, total of 38 cases; two new cases in Hubbard County, total of 171 cases and one death; 11 new cases in Itasca County, total of 461 and 16 deaths; and one new case in Lake of the Woods County, for a total of 26 cases and one death.
