Situation Update for Wednesday, April 7

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 2,004 new COVID-19 cases and 19 new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 532,658 and the death toll to 6,908.

Of today’s reported deaths, five were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.

There have been 4,298 COVID deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after around 26,000 tests were completed yesterday. More than 3.7 million people have been tested for COVID-19, with 8.4 million tests completed.

Almost 510,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

One of today’s reported COVID deaths was a Beltrami County resident in their early 90s.

MDH reported 15 new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, nine new cases in Cass County and one new case in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,618 cases and 58 deaths, Cass County has had 2,373 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 750 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,658 cases and 41 deaths.
