Situation Update for Wednesday, Dec. 23

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,513 new COVID-19 cases today and 75 new COVID deaths, bringing the state’s case count to 402,519 and the death toll to 4,971.

Of all deaths, 3,220 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 30,904 were health care workers.

Over 23,000 tests were completed yesterday, with 5.287 million tests completed since March.

To date, 379,512 COVID patients no longer need to be isolated.

One Beltrami County death was reported today, a resident in their early 80s. One death was reported in Cass County, a resident in their early 70s, and one death was reported in Clearwater County, a resident in their late 90s.

MDH reported nine new cases in Beltrami County today, 11 new cases in Cass County, and two new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 2,804 cases and 34 death, Cass County has had 1,868 cases and 18 deaths, Clearwater County has had 630 cases and 13 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,363 cases and 34 deaths.
