Situation Update for Wednesday, Jan. 13

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,504 new COVID-19 infections today and 50 new COVID deaths, bringing the case count to 440,354 and the death toll to 5,774.

Of all deaths, 3,693 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 34,275 were health care workers.

About 24,000 tests were completed yesterday, with over 6 million tests completed and 3.104 million Minnesotans tested to date.

Over 419,000 of the state’s COVID cases no longer need isolation.

One of today’s reported deaths was a resident in Cass County, a resident in their early 80s.

MDH reported 16 new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, 13 new cases in Cass County, one new case in Clearwater County and two new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,042 cases and 46 deaths, Cass County has had 2,025 cases and 23 deaths, Clearwater County has had 680 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,455 cases and 37 deaths.
