Situation Update for Wednesday, Jan. 20

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,237 new cases of COVID-19 and 34 new COVID deaths, bringing the case total to 449,492 and the death toll to 5,979.

Of all deaths, 3,810 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 35,102 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after over 18,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.162 million Minnesotans have been tested for COVID-19, with over 6.2 million tests completed.

Almost 433,000 COVID patients no longer need isolation.

One new death was reported in Beltrami County today, a resident in their early 60s.

MDH is reporting seven new cases of COVID-19 in Beltrami County today, two new cases in Cass County, and one new case in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,110 cases and 48 deaths, Cass County has had 2,077 cases and 23 deaths, Clearwater County has had 685 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,495 cases and 38 deaths.
