Situation Update for Wednesday, July 15

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 578 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 today, and eight newly reported deaths attributed to the viral disease.

That brings the state’s cumulative total of infections to 43,742 and 1,518 deaths. Of those deaths, 1,180 were residents in long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 4,189 were health care workers.

Approximately 790,497 test have been completed, with 12,452 completed July 14.

There are 254 COVID patients in hospitals across the state, and of those, 106 are in ICU.

MDH reported four new cases of COVID-19 in Beltrami County today, bringing the MDH cumulative case count to 62.

Beltrami County’s Megan Heuer reported this afternoon that Sanford confirmed 10 new cases of COVID-19. One patient was released from their hospitalization but another two were admitted today for COVID.

Beltrami County is currently monitoring 32 cases, including today’s latest positives.

One new case was reported in Cass County, bringing their cumulative total to 22 with two deaths, four new cases in Itasca County, bringing their cumulative total to 79 with 12 deaths, and two new cases in Koochiching County, bringing their cumulative total to 26 with one death.

Clearwater County has had 14 cases, Hubbard County has had 12, Lake of the Woods has had zero, Mahnomen County has had 13 with one death, and Roseau County has had 29 cases.
