Situation Update for Wednesday, June 24

The Minnesota Department of Health reports 304 newly reported cases of COVID-19 today, and five newly reported deaths, bringing the state’s cumulative total to 33,763 cases and 1,397 deaths.

Of those deaths, 1,102 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those positive cases, 3,450 were health care workers.

Approximately 529,643 have been tested so far for COVID-19, and 29,707 patients no longer need to be isolated.

By subtracting those released from isolation and the deaths from the state’s cumulative positive total, that leaves 2,659 active cases of COVID-19 in the state.

COVID patients in ICU continue to decrease in number, at 160 today. Including those in ICU, there are 340 Minnesotans hospitalized with COVID-19.

Locally, two new cases of COVID-19 were reported by MDH in Beltrami County, bringing the county’s cumulative total to 27. MDH reported one new case in Itasca County, bringing the county’s total to 60 with 12 deaths, and also one new case in Clearwater County, bringing the county’s total to seven.

Cass County has had 11 cases with two deaths, Hubbard has had five cases, Koochiching has had nine cases, Mahnomen has had six cases with one death, and Roseau has had six cases.

Lake of the Woods County remains the lone Minnesota county without a single confirmed COVID-19 case.
