Situation Update for Wednesday, March 31

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,660 new COVID-19 cases today and 12 new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 519,529 and the death toll to 6,848.

Four of today’s deaths were among residents in long-term care or assisted living facilities, bringing the total number of deaths in these types of facilities to 4,276.

Today’s data comes after around 22,000 tests were completed yesterday. Nearly 3.7 million people have been tested for COVID-19, with over 8.2 million tests completed.

Almost 500,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH reported seven new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, five new cases in Cass County and three new cases in Clearwater County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,554 cases and 54 deaths, Cass County has had 2,312 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 742 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,637 cases and 41 deaths.
