Situation Update for Wednesday, Sept. 9

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 282 new cases of COVID-19 today and seven new COVID-related deaths, bringing the state’s cumulative totals to 81,868 cases and 1,869 deaths.

Of those deaths, 1,364 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 8,917 were health care workers.

Approximately 1.621 million tests have been completed so far, with over 1.204 million people tested.

Yesterday, about 5,400 tests were completed.

To date, 75,055 COVID patients have been released from isolation.

COVID patients in ICUs increased to 137 today, with 126 others in non-critical hospital settings.

MDH reported two new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, bringing the total to 338 with three deaths; one new case in Cass County, total of 112 with three deaths; one new case in Itasca County, total of 222 with 13 deaths; and one new case in Koochiching County, total of 95 cases and three deaths.
