Situation Update Friday, Oct. 23

The Minnesota Department of Health said today that 1,693 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases and 28 new probable cases were reported today, bringing the state’s case totals to 129,511 confirmed cases and 352 probable cases.

MDH also reported 13 new deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,314.

Of those deaths, 1,623 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 13,133 were health care workers.

Over 2.590 million PCR tests and 23,199 antigen tests have been completed, with over 26,300 PCR tests and 399 antigen tests completed Thursday, Oct. 22.

To date, 114,679 COVID patients have been released from isolation.

MDH recorded 31 new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, bringing the cumulative total to 870 confirmed cases, one probable case and seven deaths.

Sixteen new cases were reported in Cass County, for a total of 357 cases and five deaths; 13 new cases in Clearwater County, total of 101 cases; 19 new cases in Hubbard County, total of 369 and two deaths; 11 new cases in Itasca County, total of 706 and 17 deaths; one new case in Koochiching County, total of 165 and four deaths; one new case in Lake of the Woods County, total of 44 cases and one death; two new cases in Mahnomen County and one new death, a resident in their late 80s, bringing the county’s totals to 106 cases and two deaths; and 13 new cases in Roseau County, total of 228 cases.
