The Red Lake Police Department made at least six arrests during a narcotics checkpoint on Saturday.

According to an announcement, the checkpoint is part of the plan for the Community Overdose Response Team.

Five were arrested for DWIs, with another arrest for fentanyl possession, fleeing police and obstruction of justice.

An unnamed quantity of marijuana was also seized.

Random checkpoints will be conducted in the future, says the RLPD, and thanked the many residents who passed the checkpoint safely.
